Henri-Lloyd launches Ocean PRO at Metstrade

Henri-Lloyd presents its latest innovation in offshore performance wear, Ocean PRO—a professional sailing apparel range engineered for survival-grade performance, comfort, and sustainability—at Stand 03.520/03.512 at Metstrade

Developed over three years in collaboration with Henri-Lloyd’s offshore ambassadors, including Vendée Globe and Ocean Race sailors, Ocean PRO introduces the first-ever 4-layer hybrid stretch membrane fabric—a breakthrough in waterproof, breathable, and flexible protection. With survival-grade waterproofness (35K), 14K breathability, and a 17% weight reduction compared to traditional offshore gear, the range delivers uncompromising performance in the harshest environments.

Ocean PRO represents a major step forward in offshore protection”, says Knut Frostad, Executive Chairman of Henri-Lloyd. “It’s not only built to withstand the ocean—it’s built to empower sailors to perform at their best, more sustainably and comfortably, for longer than ever before”

A finalist for the DAME Award 2025, Ocean PRO has been designed to meet the demands of professional offshore racing teams, long-distance cruisers, and committed adventurers. Its innovative features and advanced fabric technology make it ideal for extreme weather conditions.

Key pieces in the Collection

Offshore Jacket (men’s and women’s)
Offers robust protection with exceptional freedom of movement, featuring the Optivision Hood system, a removable face mask, and photoluminescent safety details. A cropped storm flap ensures mobility without sacrificing weather protection, while the removable neoprene inner skirt keeps wind and water out in extreme conditions and can be detached in milder weather.

Hybrid Smock (unisex)
The first fully zipped offshore smock with a removable collar, combining the sealing power of a smock with the ventilation and accessibility of a jacket. It is easy to put on and remove, without needing to be pulled over the head.

Hi-Fit Salopettes (men’s and women’s)
Reinforced with stretch Cordura panels and EVA foam cushioning, they are designed for long-lasting comfort on extended passages. The women’s version features lowered side pockets for better comfort when wearing a life jacket, and a drop seat with heavy-duty, waterproof, non-corrosive AquaGuard zippers for convenience and durability.

Advanced Fabric Engineering

Building on the unhindered mobility achieved with Henri-Lloyd’s Dynamic Range—awarded a Special Commendation at the 2024 DAME Awards—the new 4-layer hybrid stretch membrane enables precision pattern-cutting and ergonomic tailoring. The result is sailing gear that blends modern minimalism with superior functionality. Ocean PRO is unlined, light, and compact, making it easier to pack, store, and dry. Without a fixed lining, sailors can customise their layering system according to the conditions.

Key features include:
–  100% recycled Polyamide Face Fabric with 20D tricot backing
– Microporous coating and hydrophilic membrane – PFOA-free and PFC-free, this ensures waterproofness and breathability even after long exposure to salt, oil and sweat
– Double PFC-free C0 DWR treatment for superior water repellancy
– Bias-cut Y panels across the back enhances stretch and manoeuvrability and articulated
sleeves and knees ensure unrestricted movement
– Cordura stretch reinforcements at the seat, knees and tail-drop zones for durability
– Heave duty AquaGuard zippers, taped seams and drainage holes
–  EVA (2mm) foam cushioning at seat and knees to reduce impact and fatigue.
–  360° reflective patches ensure high-visibility at night and in low light conditions for
safety and endurance.

Sustainability at the Core

Henri-Lloyd continues to push sustainability in marine apparel by eliminating PFOA, PFOS, and all other “forever chemicals,” without compromising durability or technical performance. Both the face fabric and mesh backing are sourced from pre-consumer recycled materials and verified to Global Recycling Standard (GRS) requirements.

Proven at Sea

The Ocean PRO range has been extensively tested by professional sailors on multi-day ocean passages to validate its intuitive use and endurance. Feedback highlights the advantages of its stretch mobility, ergonomic cushioning, and photoluminescent safety detailing, all of which help reduce fatigue and enhance onboard performance.

Vendée Globe sailor Sam Goodchild comments: “I’m very proud to be part of the Henri-Lloyd team, which has such strong heritage and offshore experience. It’s fantastic to work with a group so enthusiastic and motivated to take Henri-Lloyd back to the top of the offshore racing world. I’m excited to be part of this ambitious journey”.

Ocean PRO will be unveiled to the international marine industry at Metstrade and will be available for purchase from March 2026.
