Furuno: FAP-FU2000, the remote controller for NAVpilot-1000

Furuno announces the new FAP-FU2000, the follow-up remote-control for NAVpilot-1000. It will be available from June 2026

The FAP-FU2000 has been designed to reassure reliability and in ease of use, even in harsh operating conditions
. The strong and waterproof design (IPX6) makes it ideal for installations in the helm, flybridge or external pods, while the sleek black finish ensures aesthetic consistency with other Furuno products, including the FAP-1001 control unit of the NAVpilot-1000.

The LCD color display provides intuitive command encoding with standard nautical colors (red for port/ green for starboard) and large characters for immediate readability in any situation.

The FAP-FU2000 supports two types of lever:
  • Short lever for upper-mount installation
  • Long lever for lower-mount installation
This choice allows the controller to be adapted to different helm configurations, always ensuring maximum operational comfort.

Compatibility and simple connection

The new controller connects to the existing NMEA2000 network used by the NAVpilot‑1000, receiving power and enabling full control of the autopilot without additional wiring. It is included in the IMO approval certificate (MED Module B) for the autopilot, confirming compliance with the most rigorous safety standards.

Software note: to use the FAP‑FU2000, the NAVpilot‑1000 must be updated to software version v2.01, scheduled for February/March 2026.
