Sailing in the Mediterranean on a 40-metre superyacht can provide an unforgettable experience of luxury, adventure and relaxation
by Massimo Longoni
Numarine has launched the first model of the 40MXP, the 40-metre flagship of the XP series. With a beam of 8.02 metres and a gross tonnage of 379 GT, it has volumes typical of larger yachts. The external profile is classic in its proportions but contemporary in its style, with strong lines. The interior and exterior design is the work of Can Yalman.
Simply imagining sailing aboard a superyacht like this is an extraordinary experience. As you cruise through the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean, you can enjoy a powerful sense of freedom, breathtaking views and the luxury and comfort that only a yacht of this size can offer. You could sunbathe on the deck, take a dip in the turquoise waters, or anchor in secluded coves. You could also explore different coastal destinations, visit enchanting islands, and dock at exclusive seaside resorts.
The Numarine 40MXP’s main saloon is spacious and bright. Carefully designed, it is a canvas on which every owner can express their lifestyle.
Ömer Malaz, President of Numarine, commented: “The 40MXP maintains the same styling cues and DNA as all our models. It follows our philosophy of large volumes, ease of use, and ample cruising range, while offering a variety of new design features that strengthen the connection between yacht and sea”. The acronym MXP stands for Mediterranean Explorer. This reflects the lifestyle and mindset of those who enjoy the outdoors to the fullest on the sea, which is why the outdoor spaces are designed to offer maximum comfort and contact with the sea.
The 40MXP offers various customisable layouts, including a sky lounge or a private deck for the owner, as well as 4-5 guest cabins,
a laundry room and an extra refrigerator. A cinema room
is also available on request.
Compared to the 37XP from which it is derived, the aft deck has been significantly enlarged thanks to an increase in hull length and a slight forward displacement of the sliding saloon doors at the rear. The result is a spacious area housing a large outdoor dining area, a bar and a lounge surrounding an infinity pool, where the water appears to blend seamlessly with the sky and sea. The beach club can be shaded with an awning, which is ideal for warmer climates. The Numarine 40MXP’s main saloon is spacious, bright and carefully designed.
The master cabin has optimal privacy. It also has a large desk that allows the owner to work in quiet.
Thanks to the endless customisation possibilities, it is a canvas on which every owner can express their lifestyle. The full-height windows accentuate the symbiosis with the surrounding environment by multiplying the natural light, an effect that is further enhanced by the use of large light-coloured surfaces. The overnight accommodation has been carefully designed. The master cabin, which occupies the full width of the vessel, is located at the bow of the main deck, offering beautiful views and optimal privacy. The office in the master cabin has a large desk, allowing you to work in complete tranquillity. The perfectly integrated and discreetly positioned galley offers quality appliances and ample workspace, allowing you to enjoy effortless gourmet experiences at sea. Every Numarine yacht is the result of a meticulous engineering design, combined with high-level craftsmanship and precision. The 40-metre displacement hull, which boasts impressive technical and formal features, was designed by Marine Design of Umberto Tagliavini, long-standing naval architecture partners. The standard propulsion system comprises two 800 hp MAN engines, and there is an option to upgrade to two 900 hp MAN engines that comply with Tier III standards.
Can Yalman is the leading designer of both the exterior and interior of the yacht. Umberto Tagliavini is the author of the naval architecture and engineering.
The maximum speed is 14 knots, with a cruising speed of 12 knots. The yacht has a range of 6,000 nautical miles at 8 knots. Particular attention has also been paid to the draught: the hull has a depth below the waterline of 2.51 metres. The dashboard is highly sophisticated in terms of its equipment and electronic systems for controlling and managing the various on-board systems. It is very rational and typical
of a pleasure boat.
The 40MXP has been designed to combine a sense of adventure with a Mediterranean lifestyle. Its open decks and lounge areas are perfect for relaxed sailing in good company. Every Numarine yacht is brought to life through meticulous engineering and craftsmanship.
