Stefano Gabbana’s yacht, which is for sale through Ocean Independence, is an extraordinary example of Italian design, technology, and craftsmanship
by Francesco Michienzi
We have had the privilege to visit Regina d’Italia, the 65-metre superyacht built by Codecasa. As you step on board, you are immediately overwhelmed by a sense of being in a fantastical world where art and design are the absolute protagonists. The ship is a unique expression of refined, luxurious minimalism. Entering the main lounge is an extraordinary experience that leaves you stunned and full of admiration at the beauty and elegance of the works of art, as well as the magnificence of the surrounding environment. The combination of luxury, beauty, and creativity generates an unforgettable atmosphere.
Built for Stefano Gabbana, it is for sale through Ocean Independence. The superyacht is unquestionably the fruit of the owner’s vision. The same vision Gabbana has had for the luxury fashion house he founded in 1985, together with Domenico Dolce, which has always found its roots in a deep devotion to Italy and its cultural heritage. “I am deeply attached to my country of origin. I have been lucky enough to travel a lot in my life, but no place fascinates me more than Italy. Italy is one of the most ancient countries in the world – a country full of history and an inexhaustible source of inspiration for people around the world. The influence of that history is visible everywhere: in Italian fashion, architecture, art, cuisine, and in its traditions”.
The yacht’s colour palette is an intense interplay of deep blue and warm teak, culminating in a sophisticated interior inspired by the underwater world. Brazilian marble, often reserved for luxury jewellery, has been generously used across all environments.
This extraordinary yacht is genuinely unique, characterised by bold design elements, elegant lines and contemporary yet timeless interiors. Conceived in collaboration with the design studio m2atelier and with Gabbana himself, it is a showcase of artistic ambition and sensorial pleasure. The chosen colour palette is an intense interplay of deep blue and warm teak, culminating in a sophisticated interior inspired by the underwater world. Brazilian marble, often reserved for luxury jewellery, has been generously used across all environments. The rarity and elegance of the marble are enhanced by a shade of blue that intensifies as you climb the decks: lighter on the lower deck and deep, immersive blues above.
Stefano Gabbana, not surprisingly, chose an Italian shipyard to build his yacht. “Italy is the country of excellence and its ability to create collections is one of a kind, unparalleled, despite many attempting to imitate it”.

The main lounge is large and bright, with mirrored ceilings and blue silk enhancing the atmosphere. A flexible lighting system with telescopic spotlights lets you personalise every atmosphere. The layout includes two side sofas and a central U-shaped disposition. The dining area is dominated by a dining table, created with works by Fornasetti, and surrounded by throne-like chairs, with all the furniture cleverly functioning as containers for crystals and crockery. The floor, in light oak with dark ebony joints, adds a spectacular visual rhythm. The full beam master suite, located on the main bow deck, features floor-to-ceiling windows for uninterrupted views and four portholes that let in the sea breeze. Mirrored ceilings amplify the sensation of space, while two separate bathrooms with Brazilian marble trim and a larger-than-standard king-size bed define the suite’s opulence.
One of the most original elements on the yacht is the series of hand gestures, reinterpreted as bronze faucets for bathrooms and sculptural elements along the staircase. Each guest cabin features a unique gesture, and the concept has even inspired the publication of a custom book on the symbolism of Italian hands.
The VIP area is composed of four symmetrical cabins: two doubles in the bow and two doubles in the stern with queen-size beds. Each cabin has a private bathroom with blue marble, mirrored ceilings, and custom technology integrations, including TVs and iPhone-synced sound systems. A sixth cabin is located just behind the captain’s cabin on the control deck, with double access from both the guest area and the crew quarters. It has a bathroom with a shower, a Pullman bed, and a large window overlooking the deck. This versatile space is ideal as a staff cabin or a bodyguard’s quarters, or can be easily adapted into a massage room.
The master suite, located on the main bow deck, extends full beam with floor-to-ceiling windows for uninterrupted views and four portholes that let in the sea breeze. Mirrored ceilings amplify the sensation of space, while two separate bathrooms with Brazilian marble trim and a larger-than-standard king-size bed define the suite’s opulence.
The suite also has two large walk-in closets, upholstered in silk, Astrakhan, and velvet. The most playful and distinctive design element is probably the series of iconic Italian hand gestures, reinterpreted as bronze faucets for bathrooms and as sculptural elements along the staircase. Each guest cabin features a unique gesture, and the concept has even inspired the publication of a custom book on the symbolism of Italian hands. The gym on the upper deck is a masterpiece of design and functionality, with all-glass sliding doors, mirrored walls, and a blue centre dome for vertical volume, perfect for TRX, jump rope, and resistance training devices. It is equipped with free weights and an elliptical machine, and it connects to an elegant marble bathroom with a shower.
A 7-metre infinity pool with jacuzzi jets and covered in a mosaic of Brazilian marble dominates the upper deck, which is connected to all other decks by the yacht lift. An automatic filling system and a dedicated water tank optimise resource use. Eight teak sun loungers with blue cushions surround the pool, while, at night, ambient lighting transforms this area into an elegant outdoor lounge.
At aft, a fixed platform and a two-part extendable beach club create a versatile space for water access. A stainless-steel retractable shower adds convenience, and the fully finished garage can serve as a tender storage or an elegant haven by the sea. The area also includes a bathroom, a laundry room with professional washers/dryers and ample storage space.
The yacht is powered by two Caterpillar engines, which allow a cruising speed of 15 knots and a maximum speed of 18.5 knots. With 11 metres in width and a draft of 3.3 metres, this RINA-rated unit also guarantees a range of 4,300 nautical miles at 13 knots and superior navigation comfort thanks to zero-speed stabilisers.
